“Painting is the music inherent in my being.  I was a musician for over 30 years before picking up a paint brush. Music is my insight into painting. It moves in rhythms and tones and exists in the moment, so my paintings begin with that same visceral quality in mind. Based on the figurative genre, each painting offers an opportunity to discover a new insight into how we act, react, do, think, worry, enjoy or ponder. Tonality is the color; composition, the choreography in play as a painting unfolds. There’s no formula, only desire and some routine.”
